Internet Policy

The Charlton Public Library offers free access to the Internet. The Internet allows our patrons to connect to networks of resources outside the library. The service is intended for independent use.

Charlton Public Library does not monitor and has no control over information accessed through the Internet and cannot be held responsible for its content. Users should be aware that not all sources on the Internet provide accurate, complete, or current information.

Internet resources available through the Charlton Public Library are provided equally to all library users. As with other library materials, restriction of a child’s access to the Internet is the responsibility of the child’s parent or guardian.

Staff will assist patrons with Internet use as time permits but cannot offer personal instruction.

Approved by the Board of Trustees of the Charlton Public Library August 5, 2004.
